GIANT RAINBOWS IN LAKE STROBEL, ARGENTINA (aka JURASSIC  LAKE)

A hosted trip to the world’s greatest rainbow trout fishery 

We invite you to join us on a trip to one of our favorite South American destinations, the amazing Lake Strobel. Rainbow trout in the five to ten pound range are just average fish here while on every cast you have real a chance of catching a 20 pound+ monster. Lake Strobel Lodge and Estancia Laguna Verde together offer access to more coastline on the lake (14 km) and to the only river which feeds it, the Barrancoso River (10 km), then any other operation. During the stay we will also have access to another 14 lagoons. You will be accompanied & assisted by your bilingual host from the moment we meet up in Buenos Aires until our return to the city.

THE FISHING
Rainbow trout in the five to ten pound range are just average fish here while on every cast you have real a chance of catching a 20 pound+ monster. In fact, the 20+ Lb Club has been growing quickly. Maybe soon we will have to inaugurate the 30+ lb Club! Generally most of the fishing on the lake is with streamers and nymphs. However, at times when the wind dies down, sight fishing with large foam flies such as the Chernobyl Ant can be very effective. Fishing is done from the shore or wading in certain areas. It isn’t necessary to fish far from the shore to have good results. During our week we will also fish the Barrancoso River. Dry fly or nymph fishing in the lower river can be amazing at times when large trout run up river for the spawn.  To get around the different areas of the lake, we will have 4×4 vehicles and quads. 

THE LODGE
Lake Strobel Lodge is the new lodge of the same owners of Estancia Laguna Verde. This comfortable lodge is part of a program designed to offer fantastic fishing at Lake Strobel and comfortable lodging for a very modest price.  El lodge is a simple rustic construction with all the basic comforts you need: electricity, hot water 24 hours a day, double rooms with comfortable beds and on suite bathrooms and a cozy living and dining area to relax in with a delicious cocktail and to enjoy excellent home style meals accompanied by marvelous Argentinian wines. These are comforts that you appreciate after a hard day of fishing. 

NOTA: Price subject to availability. It may change at any moment due to variations in costs. Payment terms: 50% upon reservation y 50%, 60 days before the beginning of the trip. Cancelations with full refunds minus a $200 reservation fee are permitted only in the case that PescaTravel is able to replace the traveller.  We recommend travel insurance with cancellation coverage which is available through PescaTravel). We reserve the right to reprogram, change or cancel activities for safety concerns or for causes of Force Mayeur. Any additional cost that might arise will be the responsibiliity of the participant.
