More than a fishing clinic – a week of learning from and fishing with the world’s best in their home rivers in León, Spain

Here is an opportunity to spend a week learning from and fishing with two of the world’s best fly fishermen, , Pablo Castro and David García Ferreras. More than a Fishing clinic, this will be a week of living and breathing fly fishing with two world champion fly fishermen while staying at one Spain’s magnificent historic Parador hotels, the Parador of San Marcos, a building that once served as lodging for kings and queens whenever they visited León. For 5 days, every morning will include a theory session given by David and Pablo covering all of the techniques and tricks which they have learned over the years and which led them to be champions. You will have the chance to implement them during the rest of the day with David and Pablo serving as your guides and mentors. The event will be limited to a maximum of 6 fishermen to assure an intimate and personal experience for the group with plenty of time to pick the mind of the two champions. 

The Spanish Fly Fishing Masters:
As competitive fly fishermen they have endeavored to be the best. With years of practice and competition, honing their skills, exploring and perfecting new techniques they have evolved into absolute masters of fly fishing. Over the years they have trained many other competitive fly fishermen. Now they want to share their knowledge and passion with other fishermen.

Any fly fishermen who are interested in taking their skills to the next level or beyond. Anyone interested in learning the techniques and tricks of the best competition fly fishermen in the world. However, the program will be limited to just 6 fly fishermen.

What will Pablo & David will show you:

Tips and suggestions on equipment: rods, reels, lines, leaders, flies – what the pros use for different situations

Spanish style nymphing (no fly line), set up and effective technique

Fishing droppers with and without a flyline, when, where and how to best fish droppers, set ups and techniques for different situations

Dry fly: the flies and set ups the pros use in different situations and the intricacies of techniques that mark the difference 

Sight fishing with nymphs and floating lines, appropriate situations and set ups and interpreting trout behavior

Analyzing a river, understanding the situation and choosing the best strategies

Flies – some of Pablo’s and David’s favorite flies, when, where and how to get the most out of different patterns and how to tie them
