They call steelhead the fish of a thousand casts probably because in most steelhead rivers their numbers are so small that one needs a thousand casts on average to hook one. However, fishing for steelhead in some of BC’s most famous rivers is a totally different game. If you go during the right time of year with a good guide and boat your possibilities of success will multiply. This is not to mention the fantastic fishing chinook, coho, chum, sockeye and pink salmon that run up the same rivers. Of all the steelhead and salmon rivers in Canada, the Skeena River is undoubtedly the king. Among its tributaries it boasts some of the best steelhead rivers in the world. These include the legendary Babine River, the Sustut, the Kispiox, the Copper, Kitsumkalum, the Bulkley, and the Maurice. To reach these rivers returning steelhead and salmon must run up the Skeena. In essence the Skeena is a super highway for these fish returning to their natal waters to spawn. As a result virtually year round you will find one or another anadramous fish in the Skeena. <\/p>\n

Steel head, salm\u00f3n coho y chum: Ca\u00f1as de mosca una o dos manos, l\u00ednea de 7 u 8 (flotante) utilizando streamers llamativos: egg sucking leach, wooly bugger o moscas grandes flotantes tipo polywog o bomber. Ca\u00f1as de lance de 3 metros con hilo de resistencia de hasta 8 kilos. Cucharillas del N\u00ba 2 tipo Silver Fox en naranja, rosa, rojo o chartreuse.<\/p>\n

Salm\u00f3n chinook: Ca\u00f1as de mosca una o dos manos, l\u00edneas de 9 a 11 (flotante), con puntas hundidas intercambiables, de tipo 3 a tipo 8, utilizando streamers grandes incluyendo: grandes intruder en rosa, azul, naranja, purpura y chartreuse, o imitaciones de hueva como el Fat Freddy.\n<\/p>\n
