Maybe soon we will have to inaugurate the 30+ lb Club! Generally most of the fishing on the lake is with streamers and nymphs. However, at times when the wind dies down, sight fishing with large foam flies such as the Chernobyl Ant can be very effective. Fishing is done from the shore or wading in certain areas. It isn’t necessary to fish far from the shore to have good results. During our week we will also fish the Barrancoso River. Dry fly or nymph fishing in the lower river can be amazing at times when large trout run up river for the spawn.\u00a0 To get around the different areas of the lake, we will have 4×4 vehicles and quads.\u00a0<\/p>\n
There are a couple of camps that operate on the lake, but ours is the only one that runs a genuine lodge, the Laguna Verde Lodge. This is an oasis of comfort in a tough inhospitable environment. The structure is simple and rustic, but offers comforts found nowhere else within many miles in any direction: electricity and water 24 hours a day, bedrooms with good full size beds and on suite bathrooms, a cozy dining and lounge area with comfortable sofas for relaxing, watching the television, connecting to the Internet, or just enjoying a cocktail before dinner. Meals are composed of a variety of delicious national and international dishes acompanied by excellent Argentinian wines. These are comforts that are appreciated after a hard day of fishing.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
